Yuletide recs: 3 x JUST LIKE CANON
Fandom: Jane Austen - Emma
Title: The Wedding Day [PG]
Summary: Emma and Knightley are married, but she's not sure what to expect.
[A fun look at Highbury wedding celebrations - with Emma wondering about the wedding night. My favorite bit is where she tries asking Mrs. Robert Martin what sex is like.]

Fandom: Louisa May Alcott - Little Women series
Title: Comfort and Joy [G]
Summary: Beth and Laurie share a private moment on Christmas.
[Go look at this lovely missing scene - happens while Jo is in New York - written very much in Alcott-style. Warm and touching, but there's the inescapable shadow of things to come.]

Fandom: Margaret Atwood - Oryx and Crake
Title: Flight [PG]
Summary: Crake ascending and descending: a series of snapshots of his slow climb and blind fall.
[Goes AU from the throat-cutting moment, for a different outcome. Strong, intelligent writing, worthy of the book; really gets into Crake's head. Includes a memorable bit of Oryx PoV, Jimmy with a spine, and a froggy flashback to Crake's childhood.]
