Yuletide recs: 3 x POIGNANT
Fandom: Betty Smith - A Tree Grows in Brooklyn
Title: falling leaves [PG]
Summary: Little Sissy is a Rommely woman.
[At last, this book gets some Yuletide fic - for a character so minor that she should be a beacon to ATGiB-geeks who remember the Lucia incident. Teen Sissy in 1929-30, as the Crash hits. Mother-daughter focus, very well done - go look, for it could be years before any more ATGiB fic comes along.]

Fandom: Love Actually
Title: Someone You Love [PG-13]
Summary: Christmas is over, but Sarah finds that sometimes opportunity knocks twice.
[Sarah/Karl, take two - with all the aching, conflicted uncertainty of the first time; gentle, insightful writing; a must-read if you liked Sarah in the movie.]

Fandom: Stephen King - The Long Walk
Title: Crazy [PG]
Summary: A little look into Stebbins's mind, pre-Walk and during the Walk.
[Stebbins backstory! Rated "Ow!" with a bonus *headdesk* - for the total dedication of the Walk-training he inflicts on himself. Left me liking sardonic!Stebbins a lot, and grieving for the waste of it all.]
